It’s mutually beneficial
The Manly Women’s Shelter is committed to developing a small and dedicated team of volunteers to support both clients and staff. Shelter volunteers come from a variety of background and many have social welfare experience. Others have business backgrounds. All volunteers have a strong community awareness and all help to keep the operating costs to a minimum.
Volunteer work acts as a kind of mutual transaction. You volunteer your skills, time and resources and receive an opportunity to improve and enlarge your own personal experiences.
The two-way relationship can be the opportunity for all parties to learn, to contribute to the community, to feel useful and to share with other people.
